How SecurityCompass HQ compares home security options
Our comparison approach uses documented product fit, transparent fields, clear source limitations, and neutral referral disclosures. Numerical editorial ratings are under review.

What we compare
We compare available information about pricing, contract terms, monitoring, installation, hardware, and customer support. The plan tool uses selected needs to surface options with documented fit signals; it does not declare a universal winner.
- Price transparency — Published equipment, monitoring, activation, and cancellation costs where available.
- Contract terms — Listed contract, financing, early-termination, and auto-renewal terms.
- Monitoring — Self-monitoring and professional-monitoring paths, with provider claims identified as such.
- Installation — DIY and professional installation paths and who each may suit.
- Hardware — Cameras, sensors, entry coverage, and documented integrations.
- Support — Support and cancellation information when it is documented, with gaps called out.
What is not verified
Many fields come from provider materials, public plan pages, and editorial research rather than a completed lab test. We do not infer that Arlo, Eufy, Wyze, or any other provider lacks an alarm system or professional dispatch simply because a source page does not mention it.
What we never accept
- Payment to feature a brand on a list
- Payment to alter how an option is described
- Editorial control by any brand or agency
- Sponsored content disguised as a review
- Coupon codes or placements that require undisclosed editorial treatment
What we always disclose
- Some links may earn compensation. We disclose referral relationships where known and do not guarantee that any link generates a commission.
- Our current comparisons use published provider information and editorial research. If we conduct a future hands-on test, we will identify the equipment, date, procedure, observations, and limits.
- When we cannot personally verify a feature, we say “per the brand” instead of asserting it.
- ADT and Vivint requests are personal follow-up with Taylor. We ask permission before sharing contact details with a provider.
